Send music into space?

Last week nasa has send the beatles song into deep space some thing to do with 25years aniversary or something.. And nasa sends waves into a specific planet which of course the music wont get there for about 120 years time.. Why that specific planet? why not into the inture space so that they get hopes more quicker fineding if there is anything life out there who would prob listern to us instead a specific planet when they dont even now if its just a dead planet or such..

If i was to yeal towards space from earth and say (helloooooo) real loud and that i was to stand on top of the mountain would my voice travel into space or will it tirritate slowly and disapears into space and leaves no marks? Or could my voice reach into space slowly or not far!

I believe we are not alone after all i wonder if life is really exsist because life is a strange place we live in with strange planrts and space irs almot like we live in a very futureristic life just like babylon5 with real planets.

no. it wasn't nasa.

it was SETI (they sent the Beatles, "all across the universe")

there is VERY little in space. (a little bit of hydrogen atoms every few cm cubed) but over all, not enough for sound to move.

sound needs a "medium" to travel through.

light, xrays, radiowaves, microwaves, ultraviolet waves all do not need a medium.

anyway forget about seti's signal.........

every single radio broadcast and communication since the beginning of radio (113 years ago) has been sent out into space.

the signals from 113 years ago have reached 113 light years which encompasses about 16,500 stars.

***********************************

I stand corrected,

The intensity decay is inversely proportional to the square of the distance. Sirius, twice as far as A-Centauri would receive only 25% of the intensity of the signal.

*************************

if space was inside a planet, then thats one weird planet since it doesn't display any characteristics of other planets in our field of view.

it would not be considered a planet.

please try to keep your question down to 1 question per question instead of 10 wrapped into one. you won't get answers an all of your topics and your just wasting your own typing time.

actually whats worse is they arn't broadcasting it to a specific planet, their broadcasting it to a star, with no planets orbiting it. its probably just a "PR stunt" to raise public awareness of space science.

link to a credable astronomy blogger's article added as source... scratch that, too long, just search for beatles to find the article on that site
well nasa sends radio waves into space in hopes that one day there will get to someone who will inturn hear hear this and know that there are beings sending messages just like we are listening to hear any communication's from space which is called S.E.T.I search for extra terrestrail intelligence and we've found or heard nothing yet,

Why am I loosing space on my computer?

I have an acer aspire laptop that has two drives with 32 gigs on each. When I got the computer there was about 21 gigs of free space on the one drive and 32 on the second drive and since then I've been monitoring what I've been putting on my computer to keep track of the free space. So far I've probably added about a gig and a half of files on this laptop however when I went to check my free space the other day it said I only had a 11 gigs of free space! Something wasn't adding up and I couldn't find what was taking up an additional 10 gigs of space. I've recently been watching streams of shows and movies on my laptop so I just by chance checked how much space was on my computer after watching an episode and it said I now had 10.7 gigs of free space. What is going on? Where is all my space going and is there a way I can check all my files by file size?

Cleanup and Defrag. Also, download CCleaner and run it.
Don鈥檛 forget that your computer comes with tools to keep it clean. When files are saved to a hard drive they are broken up into tinier files. That file is called a fragmented file. The fragmented file takes more time for the computer to put together. When a file is defragmented, the computer takes all the bits of files and puts them into one place which makes for a faster computer. Defragmenter does the process. To find Disk Defragmenter, go to Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Defragmenter. As well as Disk Defragmenter, there is something called Disk Cleanup. Run it as frequently as Disk Defragmenter, about once a month to keep your computer healthy.
Hmmm are you hacked? Maybe its a virus or something. You better give your computer a full scan. Also are you deleting the cookies and temporaily internet files. That could build up causing you to loose space.

You also might need to clean ur computer and defrag it. To do soo you go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools.
Get rid of all your temp files and temp internet files.

*Go to Start%26gt;Settings%26gt;Control Panel%26gt;Internet Options and delete all browsing history (cookies, temporary internet files etc). Check the box, Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons.

*Make sure your folder settings allow you to see the ALL your folders, Go to My Computer%26gt;Folder Options%26gt;View. CHeck all the show files boxes and UNCHECK all the Hide boxes. Click apply and ok.

*Go to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings \temp

Delete all files. (for each user)

*Delete all in recycle bin
Have you defragmented yet?
Try deleting your temperary files for the internet. Also, delete your cookies and empty the deleted email box and junk email box. Maybe a good defrag could help also.
Temp %26amp; junks files may be taking up the space. Use Ccleaner to remove all temp %26amp; junk files.

http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

wdw
In Internet Explorer, you can remove your temporary files. Tools -%26gt; Internet Options -%26gt; Under "Temporary Internet Files", hit "Delete Files".
if you have cookies then you should block alot of them if you use the internet as this can save space, coming from the i.t genie want to know
You are probably filling it up with temp files. Sweepi is a good freeware program for cleaning up junk files.

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/sweepi.html
Virtual Memory...

Everytime that you open a program, your ram is used to run it. When you open other programs while that one is open, it takes more and more... and once you run out of Ram you begin using your Hard drive space as "virtual ram". And when you go back to close the first program that you opened... you dont get all of that Ram Back until you start over -- like closing all applications or restarting your desktop. When you see that your Harddrive seems to be getting smaller and smaller too quickly.. then restart, and see what happens. If it remains low, then your issue is something else completely.
Have you been deleting temporary internet files when you are done surfing? IF not, that explains the loss of free space.

Go into the Browser settings and delete the temp files. This will clear up a lot of space, if the temp files are the cause.

You should also be running anti-spyware, as a favorite of those programs is to fill hard drives with junk. If you do not have an anti-spyware program, download Spybot

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirro...
Empty your cookies and temporary internet files.

Also, click Start-Control Panel-Security Center-Internet Options-General.

Under Temporary Internet Files, et your # of days to store internet files to one and click Settings above it.click Settings.

Set your storage to 1Mb, click apply and Ok all the way out.

Space's true identity?

I am starting to believe my own theory that behind the curve of space. Space is a non-conforming or free-forming magnetized mass of energy. Pulling all of space toward the center of the curve. Almost as if light is traveling so fast the very orgin of it has shifted toward it's present destination.

Space really comes from Neverland II Ranch. It's true, in the year 2020 scientist Michael Jackson invented a transorgasmic young male counterpart. Bubblies the monkey after his last pet but more sexier.

I like it!! :) something to think about ...

but then the Q would be, where is the center of the curve?? or where is the center of the universe with its own "galactic core-like" object that's the cause of all the magnetism??
I don't know about space being magnetic...I don't think it is, but interesting theory none the less.

You may enjoy studying physics, astrophysics, or cosmology at a formal level.

It's not as difficult as most people think. Most people just don't have an interest in it.

Does anyone besides me wonder how big SPACE is? I am not talking about the universe...I mean SPACE!?

"Space" is where everything occurs, but so is the universe. The difference between space and the universe is this: the universe consists of all matter. Space consists of...space. The thing is, once you get to the edge of the universe, space just keeps on going...and going...and going, ad infinitum. Try and get your head around what that really means. It means that nothing is of any true size; if it weren't for stuff with which to compare other stuff, there would be no way to measure. No measure ment is absolute; every measurement and every dimension depends on other measurements and dimensions. Space has no dimensions; there is no place where you can go and say, "Over there is where space begins." Nothing contains the entirety of space. Space is infinite in every direction. The universe is flat, they say, but space is not constrained by any concept of geometry...or distance. My mind boggles when I try to conceive the inconceivableness of SPACE.

Any thoughts on this?

Does anyone besides me wonder how big SPACE is? I am not talking about the universe...I mean SPACE!?wwe myspace

I wonder about it all the time.

We can only theorize about this but it does yield to logic,to a certain extent.

Space is a finite entity that permeates and supports every thing that we experience.

Nothing exists beyond space.

I know it is difficult to imagine but we are faced with the fact that before the universe existed there was nothing

When it came into existence it expanded into nothing.

You can"t go beyond that interface because there is nowhere to go.

Does anyone besides me wonder how big SPACE is? I am not talking about the universe...I mean SPACE!?search myspace myspace.comThank you, Billy Butthead, Dr Dave P, %26amp; San. "Space" has been a life-long paradox. You all enlightened me. Many said the same thing as Billy Butthead, but in terms that obfuscated rather than elucidated. Billy's response raised the blinds. Thanks to all. Report It

Good exchange guys. Just remember that there is NO interface or edge of space-time. Space is unbounded, regardless of whether it is finite (like the surface of a ball) or infinite. Our inability to visualize this is annoying, but no problem for general relativity. Report It

Very good . it shows space is finite with specific boundary.that is the reason we experience gravity. however to feel space one has to be a blind person to appreciate it. Report It

space is as funny thing because if i can wave my hand around in space arnt we a part of space and when you fart where does the smell go is it infinite? do you think aliens can smell the fart of cavemen? its like who knows man. Report It

uh...i tried reading your paragraph but i kinda got bored sorry! but yea space is HUGE!
welcome to the paradox of the human brain, our bite sized brains cant begin to wrap itself around infintie so dont try youll go crazy. its one of those things that in knowing how miniscule, infintesamaly small we our, on the cusp of insignifiacance. but at the same time the earth and its inhabitant, all the life forms, are unique. so take pleasure in all that. we are a crain of dust floating in the cosmos
I get your point--but the answer is a null. The reason is that the totality of "space" extends as far as the universe (meaning the universe as you'e defined it) but no further. There is no "space" the way you're thinking of it beyond the limits of the universe.

This does not make sense when I (or anyone else) tries to put into English--the only language that can accurately handle the concepts is mathematics.

There are (hypothetical) "extra-universe" factors--generally these go under the label "hyperspace" or "multiple dimensions." But, first, we don't knw if many of these factors are physically real--or just a convenient way of grappling with certain phenomenae. Even so, mathematically, you can't assume "hyperspace" is "outside "space--you can describe models in which hyperspace and space are 1-to-1 mappings (english aproximation is, that they overlap perfectly).

But, jsut to confuse you further if you aren't already convinced I've forgotten how to speak English!--that's the best model we'e got of "reality"--right now. At the rate our understanding ofphysics is growing, that can (and some of it probably will) change in the coming years.
Sure, I think everyone at some point ponders this question, and then comes to the realization that it can't be answered. Our mind tend to drift on to more managable things that we can deal with and solve in our daily lives and this question - sort of fades away.

What really fascinates me, even to this day, is the fact that - you are speakinging of ENDLESS space - beyond the edges the universe (matter). What about all the space that is present WITHIN matter. Most of matter IS space, and the matter is in constant motion.

What you think and pick up as a solid rock is a complex soup of protons, neutron, and electrons in constant motion, yet it feels SOLID to us - no space. We are so limited in our perception of our view of matter itself, how could we possible even understand something as complex and infinite space.
Just to elaborate on what crabby_bl... said, space itself is always moving outwards allowing things like galaxies to expand into it. Just after the Big Bang, there was a sudden inflation of space exploding faster than the speed of light. The galaxies are still trying to catch up to it but can't since they can't move faster than the speed of light.

Billions of years ago, there was less "space" in the universe but it continues to expand. Scientist believe there is not enough matter in the universe to stop this expansion of space and the expansion into space of the objects in it will go on indefinitely. Good question!
Just to be clear, the galaxies are not expanding into space, and space has not outrun the galaxies in any sense. There is no "edge" of the universe, beyond which there is only empty space. The universe is considered to be all of the space-time manifold, and when its expansion went into hyper-drive during the early inflationary period, the energy content went right along with it. All of space is considered to be uniform in its distribution of mass/energy.

Whether it is finite or infinite is not yet decided, but current estimates of the mass-energy density appears to indicate a flat or open cosmological topography, corresponding to an infinite scale with no eventual big crunch.

Space Bags question?

Ok, so I ordered those space bags things. I also bought the tote spacebags sells. I want to mainly save some space in my closet (NOT TRAVEL).

Spacebags.com has the 7 bag set: 1 extra large bag, 1 large bag, 1 medium bag, 1 hanging bag, 1 full length hanging bag, and 2 travel bags.

I read some reviews on here and most said it was a WASTE of money. There were a few remarks that were good. Here's my question: Will this product work? Will any of these work for what I need them to do? I just want to store some sweaters, dresses, shirts, pants, comforters, etc. I usually don't buy into thing like this, but I have so much clothes and such that I needed to save some space. I called them to cancel my order but have to wait a few days to do so.

PLEASE ANSWER honestly and ONLY IF YOU HAVE actually USED THEM! Thanks in advance.

I bought them at Walmart and used them. They were just fine. You can get them at walmart or target in the aisle where hangers and ironing board covers are.

Space Bags question?myspace live myspace.com

I used them brand new out of the box and stored them away. Within a month, they were all full of air. I opened them up, resealed them, and vacuumed out all the air. Within a month, same thing, they were full of air.

In my opinion, they're a waste.
I have used them an found that they work just fine for a while. The ziploc seal on them is the first thing to wear out. Also, they are serious about the fill line. They will not work if you overfill them.

Zune space problem?

I recently updated my zune and zune software. it's a lot better looking than the bland, boring version I used to have, but it has a lot of problems. I only have over a thousand songs on my zune, with no video or pictures, and the software won't let me upload anything else. When I look at how much space I have left, it says I don't have any more space left on it, because a lot of space is reserved, but when I looked in settings, it said no space at all was reserved.

How do i get the space back and sync more songs onto my zune?

Zune space problem?myspace live

If it were me I would make a backup copy of my music folder, the one zune monitors for music, rename it and store it somewhere Zune can't get to it.

Then I would erase the Zune and start from scratch. I would then add the music back to the folder Zune monitors for music. I would also remove anything that came on the Zune that I didn't want if you didn't do that already.

I have not had to do this. This is only a suggestion.
